How does the bitcoin ATM work?

The purchase process is written below.

We have different types of ATMs at a variety of locations. First find the ATM location that you are interested in and then read the process of buying bitcoin at our BTM. 

Barcraft - Nyugati , Barcraft - Buda  and Budawest Irodaház

The ATMs work in multiple languages, which you can set on the home screen. Next, you can indicate whether you would like to buy or sell bitcoin.  You can buy bitcoin for HUF and EUR. 

Buying Bitcoin under 60.000 HUF

(1. Choose your language)

1. Choose “I WANT BITCOIN”.
2. Choose limit: under 60.000 HUF. (Note, the minimum is 2000 HUF.)
3. Hold your mobile wallet’s QR code up to the ATM’s scanner (this is the transparent window in the lower right corner). Hold it there without moving for 5 seconds, so that the machine can scan your code. If the scan was successful, an "Insert cash" page will appear on the screen.
   1. In case you don't have a wallet, make a paper wallet with the ATM. Choose "Don't have a wallet?".
   2. Choose "Print paper wallet" or download one of the suggested mobile wallets on the screen.
   3. Scan the public key (the first QR code on the paper or the receiving address on mobile wallet).
4. Insert your banknotes into the ATM. You will receive the equivalent amount of bitcoin as the amount of notes you have inserted. Here, double-check that the machine scanned the correct wallet address.
5. Click "BUY BITCOIN."
6. If the process was successful, a transaction ID will appear on the screen. Take a photo of it or write it down.
7. Your bitcoins will appear in your wallet shortly.

Buying Bitcoin between 60.000 and 300.000 HUF

(1. Choose your language)

1. Choose “I WANT BITCOIN”
2. Choose limit: between 60.000 and 300.000 HUF
3. Privacy information will appear on the screen, click "I agree". 
4. Give your phone number
5. Enter the code you received via text message
6. Choose currency (HUF/EUR)
7. Scan the QR code of your wallet (Hold your QR code up to the ATM’s scanner, this is the transparent window in the lower right corner. Hold it there without moving for 5 seconds, so that the machine can scan your code. If the scan was successful, an "Insert cash" page will appear on the screen.
8. Insert your banknotes into the ATM. You will receive the equivalent amount of bitcoin as the amount of notes you have inserted. Here, double-check that the machine scanned the correct wallet address.
9. Click "BUY BITCOIN."
10. If the process was successful, a transaction ID will appear on the screen. Take a photo of it or write it down.
11. Your bitcoins will appear in your wallet shortly.

Buying Bitcoin for more than 300.000 HUF

(1. Choose your language)

1. Choose “I WANT BITCOIN”
2. Choose limit: more than 300.000 HUF 
3. Have you registered? Choose "Yes" or "No". 
   1. If yes, give your phone number and the process is the same as from the 4th point of the previous guide
   2. If no, privacy information will appear on the screen, click "I agree".
      1. Give your phone number 
      2. Enter the code you received via text message
      3. Hold your ID card up to the ATM’s scanner, this is the transparent window in the lower right corner. Hold it there without moving for 5 seconds (it's better if the card phisically touches the window), so that the machine can scan your ID card. 
      4. A new screen will appear asking if all text is clearly visible on the photo. Choose "Yes" or "No"
         1. If "No", repeat scanning
         2. If "Yes", make a selfie
            1. A new screen will appear asking if you accept it or not. If the picture is blurred take a new photo and click "OK".
            2. Wait for the support's response to your verification request via text message. If the verification is accepted, go back to the ATM and choose to buy bitcoin for more than 300.000 HUF. This time it will only ask for your registered phone number and the process is the same as from the 4th point of the previous guide. If your verification is not accepted, repeat the process.

Double-check that the machine scanned the correct wallet address.
3. Insert your banknotes into the ATM. You will receive the equivalent amount of bitcoin as the amount of notes you have inserted.
4. Click "SEND BITCOIN."
5. Your bitcoins will appear in your wallet shortly
